We love telling stories about the good work being done by socially responsible business like Farmer Brothers Coffee–especially when we’re able to focus on real, human stories rather than the typical facts, figures, and jargon found in so many corporate social responsibility reports. With the Farmer Brothers 2013 Sustainability report, we used our headlines to ask tough questions with no easy answers. This allowed us to create an authentic voice for Farmer Brothers where we could explore issues like seasonal hunger in the coffeelands, fair trade practices with growers, and principles of zero waste with deeper empathy–and a whole lot more humility.
